Way tickets
Way tickets can be notoriously complex.
A Way ticket must be split into at least three groups
of equal amounts of numbers.
Way tickets are petty complicated and
for most people, this is enough reason to avoid them.
However, unlike straight tickets, the games are combined
rather than separatedWay tickets can produce good payoffs,
as they offer a number of ways to win from the same
ticket.
For instance, take a ticket that has
been marked with three different groups of four numbers
– group A, group B and group C. Rather than play
this as a split ticket with 3 4-spots, you play the
different combinations: AB, BC, AC. You would need to
add the number of numbers together, making this ticket
a 3 8-spot. You need to bear in mind that if you play
the ticket in this way, you will not win if you get
only 2 or 3 numbers from a group, and nothing else.
Since the ticket is being treated as an 8-spot, you
will need to catch at least 5 numbers, spread across
any of the three groups.
The second reason to play a way ticket
is the availability of fractional rates. Some casinos
will let you play for as little as 10 pence per way,
instead of the usual £1.00 you would have to play
on a straight ticket.
The payouts on way tickets are the same
as playing the same games in multiple tickets. If way
tickets confuse you, and you are not interested in fractional
rates, there is no reason for you to tackle way tickets.
