Split tickets
A split ticket is 2 or more straight
tickets played on the same ticket. Each ticket consists
of a group of numbers that are either circled, or separated
by a line. Each game must have it's own unique numbers,
and can not share numbers with any other group.
There is no huge advantage to playing
a split ticket. It simply allows you to play two or
more games on the same piece of paper. One disadvantage
is that you cannot use the same number more than once.
Some keno lounges and casinos allow
you to bet on a split ticket at a reduced rate, usually
50% or sometimes 25% of the minimum (the latter usually
only if a ticket is split 4 ways). However, be aware
that by doing this you will be reducing the payout by
the same amount.
Split ticket games should be treated
entirely separately. In other words, if you are playing
two five spot games and need to catch at least 3 numbers
to get a payoff, then these three numbers all need to
appear in one part of the split ticket, as opposed to
spread over the different parts.
A final point regarding split tickets,
is that you don’t actually need to split your
ticket evenly. For instance you could have a combination
of three spot, five spot and a ten spot game all on
the same ticket. You’d have to make this clear
by writing it in the margin and it may be a good idea
to inform the keno writer. You can play the split games
for different amounts of money, unless they are for
the same spot total, in which case they must be for
the same amount.
